Jane Spowart

Clinical Lead | Psychotherapist | Co-Founder | UKCP & BACP accredited

Jane offers thoughtful, steady psychotherapy for adults experiencing emotional overwhelm, relationship difficulties, workplace stress, trauma, and life transitions. Her integrative, humanistic approach combines depth, safety, and compassion with practical tools that support meaningful change in everyday life.

Areas of Work

I support individuals navigating tough challenges across several key areas. You can find more detailed information on my dedicated service pages:

  • Anxiety, Depression, & Stress Management
  • Trauma, Grief, & Life Transitions Support
  • Self-Esteem & Confidence Building
  • Workplace Issues & Burnout Support
  • Relationship & Couples Counselling

My focus is on helping clients move beyond short-term fixes to achieve lasting change and sustainable well-being, often resulting in increased self-compassion and confidence.

Space to process: Strength to change.

You deserve support that is responsive, compassionate and genuinely effective. I offer a professional space founded on integrity and support. My work is built on the belief that even when you feel most ‘stuck’, the path forward is already there. Often it’s just obscured by the current ‘high tide’ of stress, overwhelm or exhaustion, driven by the unhelpful belief that you ‘just have to get on with it.’ My role is to help you navigate that tide and find your own clear causeway of clarity and direction.

Clients have described our work as ‘transformative’. I provide a deeply empathetic and grounded presence where they feel safe, heard and understood, allowing for the exploration of difficult issues without fear of judgment. We will collaborate to create an approach that is tailored specifically to your needs and goals.

Therapy for Anxiety, Trauma, and Relationship Issues

I work with individuals and couples navigating challenges such as:

  • Anxiety, depression, and stress
  • Trauma, grief, loss and major life transitions
  • Low self-esteem and confidence
  • Work-related issues, burnout and work/life balance
  • Relationship difficulties (for individuals and couples) including betrayal and complex relational issues

My focus is on helping you move beyond short-term fixes to achieve lasting change and well-being, where you can feel more self-compassion and move through life with a quieter, steadier confidence.

Humanistic, Integrative & Couples Therapy Approach

Working with me goes beyond just talking. I prioritise ethics and authenticity, always putting the person before the problem. I am committed to fostering safety and trust, where you can exhale, speak the unspoken and explore challenges without the weight of criticism or instability. I help guide clients toward their own insights, ensuring they feel empowered rather than pushed. This allows you to express, process, and challenge your thoughts and feelings in a supported environment.

We focus on gaining a thorough grasp of your patterns and interactions, then translating that insight into effective tools and skills you can put into action immediately.

I hold advanced specialist training in couples therapy, which informs all my relationship work. You will increase your knowledge of yourself and your partner, moving past ‘who is right’ and into learning new skills to communicate better, negotiate, and gain deeper insights into your relationship dynamics, preventing resentment from building up.

In our work together, I strike a balance of compassion with accountability, ensuring both partners feel heard and validated, providing actionable skills to manage conflict and build bridges. Whether you are looking to strengthen a solid foundation, separate in a healthy and respectful way, or navigate major transitions, I help you find mutual resolution.

My Professional & Lived Experience

My therapeutic approach is firmly grounded in both clinical training and substantial real-world, lived experience.

Professionally, I bring insights from a successful 27-year career in education and senior leadership. This work has  provided me with a first-hand understanding of how relentless demands and constant change can impact our mental well-being, regardless of your role or industry. My unique background ensures that when we discuss workplace stress or career transitions, I offer a level of empathy and practical perspective that only comes from navigating high-pressure sectors, such as education, emergency services and business, myself.

On a personal level, my support is informed by the wisdom gained from navigating significant life challenges. I experienced the impact of radical restructuring and redundancy, which necessitated my own journey of re-evaluating identity and purpose and subsequently retraining. Alongside being a parent, I have been an emotional anchor for partners throughout their own mental health struggles, addiction, unemployment and retraining. I have also personally navigated the deep impact of betrayal trauma; a journey defined by the resilience and support of a family system in processing its aftermath.

This unique blend of professional expertise and personal understanding allows me to offer a therapeutic space that is both highly competent and genuinely relatable. My own experience serves as a foundation for empathy, not a blueprint for yours.
